Secondary Starter

About the course
During the course, your child will learn basic vocabulary and grammatical topics, as well as develop reading, listening, speaking and writing skills in English.

We offer 2 group options for teenagers who are starting to learn English from scratch:

• Sec Starter: English for beginners with full immersion in an English-speaking environment from the first lesson.
• EZ Sec Starter: a group with partial explanation of the material in Ukrainian. During the course, the percentage of explanations in Ukrainian gradually decreases, and students switch completely to English.

Course materials

The main tutorial that we use in this course is Wider World Starter. It is developed by Pearson, an international publisher, following the latest in English teaching techniques and methods.

The textbook combines tasks for practice of reading and listening together with the study of grammar, vocabulary and various communicative tasks. Wider World Starter also contains interesting videos from the BBC channel for your child to get acquainted with the culture of the English-speaking countries and the authentic language.

Training is conducted online or offline in Kyiv (Livoberezhna metro, 14 A. Sheptytskoho str). 

Course Outcomes

At the end of the level, your child will be able to:

• maintain communication using basic vocabulary and grammar
• talk about his/her daily routine, say how he/she feels
• talk about his/her food preferences, describe holidays
• point the way
• ask and give permission, and talk on other basic topics
